One Landmark, Three Organizations

There are three organizations associated with 16 Gramercy Park South. The distinctions are simple, yet important:

  • The Players Preservation Fund is the nonprofit organization responsible for maintaing and preserving the 175-year-old building, including both its landmark exterior and essential systems and infrastructure.

  • The Players Foundation for Theatre Education is the nonprofit responsible for public access to, and stewardship of, the permanent collection and educational resources including the library, artworks, and theatrical artifacts housed within.

  • The Players is the social organization founded in 1888 for artists and art lovers. It conducts programming and performance events, activating the space in an environment of camaraderie and respect for theatrical, literary, and fine art history

All three play important roles in preserving the legacy of this landmark for the public and the broader cultural community.
